The Garmisch Child Development Center provides quality developmental programs. Whether children are enrolled in the full day, part day, or hourly programs, a schedule of planned activities will enable children to develop and grow in a caring, nurturing environment.
Program Options
Programs and activities within the CDC will reflect knowledge and understanding of the growth and development of children, and provide experiences to enhance and support children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Each program within the CDC is age and developmentally appropriate. Ages for care at the CDC are six weeks to pre-kindergarten.
Depending on the needs of each family a variety of care options are available:
- Full Day Care - Developmental care for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children on a regular scheduled basis for up to ten hours a day. There is usually no waiting list for full day care.
- Part Day Toddler Care - Developmental care for toddler age children two days a week for three hours a day.
- Part Day Pre-Kindergarten - Developmental care for pre-kindergarten age children two, three or five times a week for three hours a day.
- Hourly Care - Developmental care for all ages on a short term, intermittent basis. The CDC accepts reservations up to one month in advance. Although some drop in-spaces are available daily, we recommend that parents make advance reservation. Reservations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
- STRONG Beginnings Pre-K Program - Strong Beginnings is a school readiness program for four and five year olds who will attend kindergarten the next school year. It is designed to give children a solid academic foundation in basic academic skills such as reading, writing, science and math so they are positioned to be successful when they start kindergarten. Teaching staff implement The Creative Curriculum, a nationally known early childhood curriculum. Your child’s teacher will be actively involved in your child’s learning and plan activities based on knowing each child’s developmental level. In addition, children learn “school etiquette”, including waiting turns, sharing, putting materials away after use, and more. By mastering these skills children will be better prepared to learn, grow and be academically successful when they enter kindergarten. For more information please call DSN 440-2684 or CIV 08821-750-2684.
